York Fair Grounds Yorkers know what they like. And since 1765, the York Fair has held universal appeal for fun seekers from throughout the county. The first of these old fairs was held eleven years before the Declaration of Independence. Over the years, the York Fair has hosted an impressive array of celebrities and political leaders, from Bob Hope and Kenny Rogers to Theodore Roosevelt and John F. Kennedy. But most importantly, the York Fair has earned the loyalty of generations of Yorkers, and countless friends from throughout the eastern United States.
